Utility rebate programs in Philadelphia, New Jersey and Delaware can take hundreds — sometimes thousands — off a new system, and we handle the paperwork for you. Here's what's actually available right now.
What You Can Get Back Right Now
Rebate programs change constantly and most contractors never mention them. We track the current programs across PA, NJ and Delaware — and when you install with Lumen, we file the applications for you.
One rule every program shares: rebates only pay on ENERGY STAR certified equipment. If a rebate is part of your plan, we quote qualifying models only — and we check the certification before you sign.
Up to $2,000
PGW's EnergySense program (runs through Aug 31, 2027) pays real money on high-efficiency gas equipment:
- ✓ $400 — gas furnace, 95%+ AFUE
- ✓ $1,000 — gas boiler, 94%+ AFUE
- ✓ $1,400 — combi boiler (heat + hot water)
- ✓ $400 — ENERGY STAR tankless water heater
- ✓ Income-qualified households get more — up to $800 furnace / $2,000 combi
Up to $300
PECO's residential rebates on efficient electric equipment, based on SEER2 rating:
- ✓ $200–$300 — ducted air-source heat pump
- ✓ $150–$300 — ductless mini-split heat pump
- ✓ Application must be filed within 90 days of install — we handle it
$250–$1,650
The Electrical Association of Philadelphia's homeowner HVAC rebate on complete high-efficiency systems:
- ✓ Heat pumps, central AC & mini-split systems
- ✓ Stacks with PECO — combined savings can top $1,900 on a high-efficiency heat pump
- ✓ Full system installs through a participating contractor only
Up to $7,500
New Jersey's Clean Energy Whole Home Energy Program pays by how much energy your upgrade saves:
- ✓ $2,000 base + $200 per point of modeled energy savings
- ✓ 0% financing options for qualifying projects
- ✓ Program terms run through June 30, 2027
$500–$1,300
On top of the Whole Home program, your electric utility adds its own heat pump rebate:
- ✓ PSE&G — up to $900 on qualifying heat pumps
- ✓ Atlantic City Electric — up to $1,300
- ✓ $450+ on heat pump water heaters (PSE&G)
Up to $600 /unit
High-efficiency gas furnaces, boilers, and central AC also qualify for utility rebates:
- ✓ 30% of cost, up to $600 per unit
- ✓ Furnace + AC combos can claim both
- ✓ Exact amounts depend on your utility — we confirm before you sign anything
Up to $2,250
Home Performance with ENERGY STAR pays on high-efficiency electric equipment, in two tiers by SEER2/HSPF2 rating:
- ✓ $800–$1,600 — ducted air-source heat pump
- ✓ $550–$1,100 — ductless mini-split heat pump, plus $350–$550 per additional indoor head (capped at $4,000)
- ✓ $650–$1,250 — central air conditioner
- ✓ $1,450–$2,250 — hybrid heat pump + furnace system
Up to $1,100
Gas heating and water heating measures under the same program:
- ✓ $350–$750 — 96%+ AFUE gas furnace (more when replacing an 89% or older unit)
- ✓ $850–$1,100 — 90%+ AFUE boiler / condensing combi boiler
- ✓ $1,100 — heat pump water heater · $650 — tankless gas water heater
- ✓ $150 — ENERGY STAR smart thermostat (bundled)
$50 audit first
Delaware rebates run through a home energy assessment, not a standalone application:
- ✓ A $50 Home Performance assessment by a program-approved contractor comes first ($25 income-qualified)
- ✓ Income-qualified "Assisted" tier pays more — e.g. up to $2,200 on a heat pump
- ✓ Rebates capped at 50% of installed cost; paid 4–6 weeks after final inspection
- ✓ Federal HEAR rebates ($500–$8,000, income-qualified) are being administered by DNREC — we track the launch
⚠️ The federal tax credit ended — don't get sold on it
The federal Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit (the 30% / up-to-$2,000 heat pump tax credit) ended December 31, 2025. Some companies still advertise it — it is no longer available for new installations. If your system was installed in 2025, you can still claim it on your 2025 tax return.
